you realise

one is really truly alone

my smile hides my tears

my laugh - my screams

my eyes - my longing for you

things are never as they seem

many things go untold

such as my

not a care for the world

my not a care for you

allow me to let you in on a little secret

the urge to let me free

but instead

i practise my smile in the mirror

and

make my laugh clearer

and decide

to hide behind the mask
