our first kiss

it is day one hundred sixty-something

the sun's beaming with joy

a beautiful blue sky

with a few clouds of gray

and i

sipping your ever favorite

saffron chai

i sit back, reminisce, and daydream

that evening by the pier

under the moonlit sky

with twinkling stars

my heartbeat intertwined with yours,

the way our hands did,

in your car,

on the way home

when I kissed you,

it didn't matter that anyone could see us,

we were untouchable, infinite,

and endless

all that mattered was

how it made my heart calm

and my head spin

as you leaned down to kiss me once again

i realised

how it made me want more of what we share

how the world came to a hush

when our lips united

it was a sign

that this was meant to be

that we were meant to be

but here i still wonder,

i wonder

how this felt right

amongst all others i shared

i think i understand it now

this is love

i hope one day

you do too

it is day one hundred sixty-something

a beautiful blue sky

with a few clouds of gray

yes, your burgers are on their way :)
